33 & 1/3
THE PROJECT:
Experience “33 & 1/3,” a chance to be transported back in time to relive the days of classic rock and the album covers that were as big as the music itself.
From as early as I can remember, there was music playing (often loudly) in my house. My parents were constantly rocking out to The Stones, Skynyrd, Bowie, The Allman Brothers, Zeppelin, and The Dead, among so many others. This is where my love for music began, having grown up with parents who were, and continue to be, so passionate about it.
Over the years, I developed a deep love and appreciation for classic rock, and this is the foundation of my newest work.
I created “33 & 1/3” to transport you back to your free-spirited teenage years. Back to a time when the release of a new album was eagerly anticipated, followed by you driving to a record store, purchasing the album, and not being able to wait until you got home to tear off the plastic to start experiencing it; its cover, its liner notes, its lyrics, etc.
While the advent of CD’s took away the anticipation and excitement of albums being released and available on store shelves, “33 & 1/3” is here to recapture it, forever.
These are commission-based paintings, which can be customized to fit whatever vision you see. I hope to bring you back to the days of album rock and album covers, in all their glory. So every time you glance at the piece, you are taken back to those special times when you were surrounded by friends, listening to the best music ever created.
